10% of Scotlands seas are being proposed to become HPMAs / No Take Zones. Red box in this image represents 10% of Scotlands land area. In this box you could not farm, forestry, gather wild food, fish in a loch or extract anything. WHY is this acceptable on the sea?

My fishing boat is propelled with electricity, 8 months of the year it can be charged from the solar panel aboard. It's range 15miles, HPMAs/no take zones will end my 30 years of sustainable living. I swap some of my scallops for local milk and bread. HPMAs destroy communities.

Calum Duncan How do you believe they will support local economies by closing all commercial & recreational fishing down? Rural coastal communities all round Scotland including western & northern Isles are up in arms & believe HPMAs would devastate their communities. Are they wrong & you right

Modern day Dons legend. Truly a poetic evening last night. He was there through all the European Qualifying ups and downs for four years, never getting to taste Group Stage football. Returns to help us avoid a relegation dogfight and ends up scoring the goals to secure 3rd. ♥️

And to think there are people that actually believe small fishing boats working small areas can actually do more damage to the seabed than the sea itself!..

Brian At the MPA workshops years ago when the eNGO mob were trying to close Luce Bay to dredging I passed photos of kelp and stones lying deep on the roads around & asked if anyone present had evidence that a few scallopers from 1st November to 1st March did damage like that.Nobody had

isleseafoods I’ve seen heaps of kelp on the beach over the years.. I have no doubt the beach will be covered again after this weather.. there’s never a trawl boat anywhere near it
