Cities dominated by cars don’t deliver on much of the promise of urban life: they are loud, unsafe, annoying to get around. Terrible for seniors and children. In Montreal you can hear the birds this summer. Children play and old men linger in the heart of the city. Why?

Question for employers and managers: If you're making the move to bring employees back to the office, what's the rationale behind it?

Linda Schweitzer, PhD (@schweitzerls) 's Twitter Profile Photo

When you use the term “back to work” to describe returning to the office to work, you are showing and reinforcing your bias and suggesting that the time people spent toiling at home during and since lockdowns wasn’t “work”. Insulting.

WFH is an EDI issue. WFH is a source of strategic HR advantage. WFH contributes to work-life balance and employee well-being. Clamping down on it is short-sighted and backward. Smart employers will adapt and leverage WFH to benefit themselves and employees.

Acadia University will be piloting a 4-day (28h) work week for the summer months beginning June 1st. I am excited to see how this improves employee wellness and work-life balance. My bet is the quality of work only gets better (and it’s already pretty great).

Matt is 100% the embodiment of student leadership in every aspect of the word. And he’s a great guy. And an accountant. Congrats, Matt! Can’t wait to see what comes next for you, and thank you for all you’ve done for our students and school. #SprottLove

Yes. I faced this problem so often early in my career. But rather than adding women’s bathrooms, the issue of men-only bathrooms can be so much more easily solved with just…..bathrooms
