Long-term care facilities demonize themselves and are for-profit institutions known for abuse. Why do you think disabled people’s life expectancy shortens when they are institutionalized versus when they receive home and community-based care?

It's almost funny that the NHS Audiology department, whom I contacted due to my hearing aids and hearing loss, sent me an email about how they tried to contact me.. by phone. I'm partially deaf and struggle with calls. Even some emergency services, there is no accessible option.

I wonder whether the European Civil Protection Mechanism can be activated for people—especially children—burned alive in plastic tents, or is it just for trees.

Or.. or.. Labour embracing right wing policies is making voters turn away from voting for them. Like attacking disability rights and pushing eugenics with assisted dying bill. Doubling down when clearly this is a sign that people are not happy will not end well.

Over 1.5 million persons with disabilities still live segregated in residential institutions. It's time this ends. On #IndependentLivingDay, we call on policymakers to commit once and for all to move away from this outdated and harmful practice. Statement:

As an autistic deaf woman, I felt a lack of accessibility in services to support pregnancy and during birth. Now, as a mom, pediatric services continue the trend. When pointed out I heard "Oh yeah I never thought of that". Doubt I'm the only disabled woman having a baby tho 🤷‍♀️

We got here with the rise of the far right and by normalising eugenics in relation to disabled people. The lack of protection during COVID, EU still allowing forced sterilisation, and many other policies are clearly and proudly eugenics.
