Evening walk

Biked Altass to Invershin (easy lovely 7 miles) @Scotrail to Inverness. Time for tea, river wander, and relaxing drink in Ness&Thistle station bar before boarding Caledonian Sleeper back to London. Let the bike and train take the strain.

Just woke up on the Euston Inverness Caledonian Sleeper Seated coach better than I thought it would be! And cheapest most convenient way to get here from London. Less than £40 with railcard.

Soft spot for this 30 year old rigid mtb which once again got me from tarmac to trail via rocky fords, scree covered steep climbs and skidding descents to this wild place and back again safely the next day

The neglect of the buildings at these remote stations on our most northerly railway line always saddens me.

Cycle parking at Guys Hospital still hopelessly inadequate. Complained about this 15 years ago when coming here for chemo. Now it’s actually dangerous. This fell on my head while I was trying to use it! Think it’s broken! (Cycle parking not my head)Who should I tell?

Wasn’t aware you needed a driving license to hire a lime bike. Are you sure? Seems ridiculous if true and I wasn’t asked for proof of license when I’ve hired.

Meanwhile in Lewisham, still waiting for tiny crossing of the Waterlink Way, tunnels built deliberately exclude cycling and seems it’s impossible to even keep a lift in good working order rendering only active travel Thames crossing in the east of UK capital, unfit for purpose
