I'm kinda nobody but David Lynch's sense of humor was so influential to me. His strange sense of pacing, his willingness to waste a ton of time, something that should be precious, just because it's funny to do so

I don't think it was pain that made him so great, I think painting brought him whatever happiness he had. * RIP David Lynch

David Lynch gave us the language we needed to better articulate the indescribable strangeness of our shared reality. “Lynchian” is so overused because it’s a viscerally understandable word without any known synonyms. I can’t imagine a more beautiful artistic legacy than that.

david lynch struggled to get financing for his new film right before he passed. john waters just canned a film for the same reason. our greatest artists are aging and no studios are interested in funding the auteurs whose influence shaped the artform while they’re still with us

can’t believe we’ll never get another film by david lunch, nor a weather report or a piece of art on some random media or some lesson about meditation or some video of him repairing his trousers with paper😭😭
