From yesterday's seminar session: “The difficulty of staying with a way of listening, of attending to the data, is part of the work.” - Mendi Obadike, as quoted in Naomi Waltham-Smith’s Shattering Biopolitics. Working on a collective vocabulary through Waltham-Smith and others.

Today we begin faculty workshops in the seminar with WIP from Rachel Mundy (Associate Prof of Music in Arts, Culture and Media at Rutgers-Newark) and Derek Baron (Postdoc Associate at the CCA). Both Mundy and Baron are workshopping chapters from their upcoming book projects!

Today we continue our faculty workshops with works-in-progress from seminar members Naomi Extra and nick glastonbury . Extra’s work examines the musical histories of black feminist SDiane Bogus and Glastonbury’s explores the mediations of dengbêj performance in Turkish Kurdistan.
