Eoghan Kenny of Labour was deemed to be elected and took the fifth and final seat in Cork North Central however Mick Barry of PBP has requested a recount as just 35 votes separate them. Recount at 10am tomorrow #GE24 #Election2024

So recount due to begun here at 10am. Before that, approx 9.30am, candidates will meet with returning officer Martin Harvey and decide the extent of the recount.

Latest update here is no misplaced bundles have been found, but up to 15 individual errors perhaps identified. Now they will walk back through those votes and see do they impact any of the candidates. Expect that process to take an hour or so. #ge24 #cknc

A full recount is underway in Cork North Central at the request of PBP Solidarity candidate Mick Barry. This phase of the process will last a number of hours and could go into tomorrow.

Update: After checking 63% of the votes, Eoghan Kenny has increased his lead by 4 votes, and is now 39 ahead of Mick Barry. The outgoing PBP Sol candidate has asked for 15 minutes to consult with his team.
