As this diagram shows, the cave isn't accessible to all. We can therefore bring the cave to you ! We can provide 3D images of the cave, and equipment, for your group or society, so please message if you are interested.

There are many carvings of hearts within the cave. The shape we recognise today began to be used in the 14th century, and is thought to be a variation of foliage which was originally used to symbolise fertility. Happy Valentines from Royston Cave ❤️

We have just published our next midweek special to be held on 24th June to coincide with the feast day of John the Baptist. Standing on the left, with Thomas Becket on the right, this carving is a replica of the seal of the priory which once stood in Royston.

This weekend is a great time to visit Royston. With an art exhibition, a book fayre, the market, the splashpark and the May Fayre on Monday. There has never been a better time to visit the cave and make a day of it !
