I really enjoy cycling around my visits too... fab to return to the office with the endorphins pumping! I have pledged to cycle more days each month as part of NHS Borders action to reduce of environmental impact. Great idea to start logging the miles travelled each month.

Today the kids and I met a friend and went for swim. We got talking about her challenges in education and mine in the NHS and I told her all about my #capturingACEs focus. Connections formed on shared aims approached from different paths can be powerful. Further collab to come?

Working in a rural area it is very evident that transport poverty has a huge impact on people's health. Not just problems accessing health appointments but also being able to get to shops that sell affordable, fresh food can be a real challenge when you live far from a bus route.

As a HV I contributed to this survey and the findings show how parenting is impacted by poverty nationally. In #nhsborders HVs see the direct impact of poverty on the development and wellbeing of children and work alongside families to reduce the impact. #morethanweighingbabies
