So Jeremy Rockliff given the dreadful occupancy rates over winter in Tasmanian hotels will you and the Tourism Minister apologise for the waste of taxpayer money on the ineffectual (awful) “off season” campaign? #taspol
Huge kudos to doctors, nurses & staff at Hobart’s Icon Cancer Centre yesterday who calmly & efficiently moved patients undergoing chemo, CT scans or radiation out of the building when fire alarms sounded & did their best to keep them comfortable outside on a cold afternoon.
Airlines cop lots of criticism so I’m happy to give kudos to Virgin Australia crew who looked after Annette whose cancer makes walking any distance very problematic. They made flying easy for her every step of the way. #travel #airlines
Your guide to political doublespeak in #Tasmania. No.2 in a series. “An independent inquiry”. Definition: a desperate need to delay any action until public anger dies down. #politas Tasmanian Liberals
What? Surely not! Jeremy Rockliff remember this in The Mercury in Feb this year: Premier Jeremy Rockliff has pledged to prevent the closure of the iconic King Island Dairy. “That won’t happen. Not on my watch,” themercury.com.au/news/tasmania/… #politas
The beloved was making a batch of Rum Balls. I suggested a whisky flavoured batch would be great. In hindsight checking ABV would have been an idea but the 50.5% Single Malt from Nonesuch Distillery sure added some kick! Great flavour though. #whisky
Today’s forecast temp “feels like” -2 to 9 degrees ( “no thanks”). So I’ve swapped the distillery for the home office and put the kettle on (or maybe something stronger). Working on next Nonesuch Distillery newsletter—full of warming specials and big news about our latest release.
