Nobody talks about the quiet trauma carried by the average Nigerian boy, growing up learning fear before love, silence before expression and survival before dreams. A system that should protect him breaks him and he grows into a man still bleeding where the authorities first cut.
One day we are going to discuss how W. F. Kumuyi convinced members of his church that watching television (the so-called Devilโs Box) and listening to radio were sins since 1973. But in 2022 he turned around and said it is no longer a sin to watch television or listen to radio.
