I love my non-medicine friends. They celebrate me when I cry if a patient passes. Sometimes they will cry with me. Makes me feel human.

Residency can feel so lonely. Haven’t lived close to my family and friends since 2017. Struggling with the idea of feeling this lonely for the rest of residency. Just wanna send in my two weeks and move back to NYC or Florida. Anyone have some advice on weathering the storm?

Just overheard two residents chatting. One mentioned they were tired and the other essentially explained why they shouldn’t be tired because someone else’s weekend was worse. Since when was being tired a competition? Why do we need to justify feeling tired?
