We love Skepchick's ([email protected] why not) tradition of celebrating Halloween "by seeing what those freaks over at the Recreational Fear Lab have been up to!" 🫶 skepchick.org/2024/10/study-…

So grateful to the brilliant team Recreational Fear Lab for hosting me last week. Not many academic visits include an evening at a ‘haunted house’ and waking up with fake blood in my hair 😂 I left feeling excited about continued collaboration and my next visit!

Hey look, our wonderful collaborator Madison S. LaSaga is in the news, talking about horror movies, intrusive memories, and our current joint project - and reveals that she's a white-knuckler (like most everybody else here at the lab, it seems 😂) 🎃💪

New paper out from @Marc_M_Andersen and team Recreational Fear Lab - check out the thread and open access paper below! Wonderful to see another project supported by IMC seed funding grow into a novel, interesting paper 🌱

Our latest study, conducted in collaboration with researchers from Aarhus Uni.hospital and funded by Interacting Minds, explores how recreational fear - such as being chased by a chainsaw-wielding pig-man in a haunted house - impacts the immune system:

Nice write-up of our most recent publication in Medical Xpress - "The health benefits of fright: A haunted house study" 😱🤩 medicalxpress.com/news/2024-11-h…
