Apple harvest happening. A good but not great crop this year due to heavy necessary pruning last winter. Next year should see a marked improvement, as long as weather cooperates at appropriate times.

Apple harvest 2022 finished! This year was beset with challenges: Hail Equipment breakdowns DOL audits, etc. But we made it through safely! We hosted a celebratory dinner for our workers before they left for their next jobs. ❤️

Great afternoon yesterday - walking around Stanmer park and ending up visiting @BPTpermaculture fruit factory. The scrumpy is lovely. Sharp, zingy and full bodied!

Sadly this is a reality we can't change whilst multiple retailers have too much power. The artisan producer of full-juice cider is even more hammered relative to those (the vast majority) producing watered-down versions of cider. theguardian.com/business/2023/…

More apple trees lost. Electricity for cold storage +300% on last year, labour +15% and rising again in April. "Input prices (picking, energy, haulage packaging etc) +23%. Prices paid by supermarkets +0.8%" (say BAPL). Once gone, forever gone 😢 bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan…

Stunning from Welsh Mountain Cider, over six years since pressing & evolves into something even better than the last time I tasted it. Bravo 🥂

Was recently in Gloucestershire and with the fam, and found this lovely little drop at Apple orchard campsite - their own cider! Def stronger than 6.5%. If that doesn’t sell it enough they also have a baby donkey 🫏 called Bella x

Bray cider just off the M5 in Somerset. You can’t get much more of a cider farm experience here. Small scale producers doing things right the traditional way - also great little farm shop on site too ✌️
