If you’ve ever wondered how #robots can boost safety and create jobs in the #nucleardecommissioning industry, our director, Dr Kirsty Hewitson, has done a podcast with Enlit Europe and it's a must listen: enlit.world/nuclear/ai-rob…
Last week, we welcomed colleagues from our new(ish) partner AWE Nuclear Security Technologies for their first full-day group visit to RAICo1. Thank you to AWE for such an engaging and productive visit – we’re excited to see where our collaboration takes us next.
Our director, Dr. Kirsty Hewitson, has written a column in in-Cumbria Magazine about the UK's #ModernIndustrialStrategy. Read it here: edition.pagesuite-professional.co.uk/html5/reader/p…
Earlier this year, we published a write up of our state-of-the-art training simulator, designed to transform how operators at Sellafield Ltd's Magnox Swarf Storage Silo prepare to use a bespoke £1 million robot. Discover the results here: raico.org/pioneering-vir…

RAICo has just returned after taking part in an NDA hosted panel on #Robotics and #AI for nuclear decommissioning at IAEA’s 69th General Conference (#IAEAGC), alongside Ice9Robotics, IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency ⚛️ and @Sellafield
Our work on simulations of #nuclear facilities is this month's Nuclear Eng magazine cover story. Photorealistic simulations allow users to virtually try new setups and deliver training in hazardous environments, reducing downtime and minimising risk to humans: content.yudu.com/web/442ay/0A44…
Learn how we're working with Co-Lab Engineering to quantify the benefits of RAICo's projects, showing how robotics deployments in #nucleardecommissioning and #fusion engineering are delivering measurable value for UK taxpayers: raico.org/raico-and-cola…
Yesterday, our director, Dr Kirsty Hewitson, presented at the 9th UK-Japan Nuclear Industry Forum at the British Embassy Tokyo (🇬🇧UK in Japan🇯🇵), addressing UK and Japanese delegates. It was a chance to hear decommissioning updates from both countries & explore future collaboration.
Last week, we demonstrated the latest updates to three of our digital technologies for #NuclearDecommissioning. The one you see here is the MSSS Teleoperation Training Simulator. Its initial use case is training robot arm operators in Sellafield Ltd's Magnox Swarf Storage Silo.
Last month, Simon Usborne from the The Telegraph paid a visit to RAICo1 and Sellafield Ltd to learn how robots were transforming how we approach nuclear decommissioning. The result is this excellent article: telegraph.co.uk/gift/49a1f71ff…
Read our Q&A with Josh MacAlister MP - Labour MP for Whitehaven and Workington. We cover #Cumbria's industrial future, and how R&D, #robotics, and an #AI growth zone can support it. raico.org/qa-josh-macali…
