The third day of the Hungarian Orienteering Cup 2024! The area was a little less hilly and mostly in woodland today. Evening activity was a "Mobile-O" where using a telephone, one orienteer gives directions to another who doesn't have the map! RAFSport Royal Air Force

Final day of the Hungarian Orienteering Cup 2024 was situated in the same area as the previous day, however courses were shorter and had less climb. After the event we headed over to Budapest for their National Day's Fireworks display! 🎆 UK in Hungary UK Defence in Hungary RAFSport

En route to the #Barbican for another #LondonCityRace in Royal Air Force colours! 12 km of rapid route choice / fast running around the intricate streets of the Square Mile + the multi-level map chaos of the Barbican Centre. Good luck LincolnOrienteering and RAF Orienteering runners!

The first urban interservices was held last weekend in Manchester against the Army and the Navy. The RAF team finished 2nd to the army with a combined time of 3:40:19 compared to the army's 3:38:47, only 92 seconds behind. Thank you to seloc for hosting a great weekend!

Last weekend was the Interservice Competition held at Black & White Hills by Southern Navigators. Well done to all those representing the RAF and congratulations to Army Sport for winning... again.

Last weekend marked the final stage of the City Race Euro Tour 2024 season. RAFO dominated the top of the Men's elite category with 3 of the top 8 finishers! This season saw our orienteers travel to Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Belgium to compete.

RAF Orienteers had a busy summer, espically on the Austrian O Days in July where a contigent of personnel visited Austria and raced across 8 days. 4 days urban in a uni campus & city centre of Graz including a tunnel under a hill and the other half being classic forest races.

Not only visited Austria in July. But also Shetland Islands, as far North as you can get in the UK! Shetland certianly poses a unique enviorment for orienteering, with very few trees, and rocky terrain. That was followed by another week in the Dee Valley. youtube.com/@raforienteeri…

Last weekend RAF Honington was the venue of the British Sprint Relay Orienteering Champs. RAF Orienteers assisted with the running of the race and also had a team competing!
