I wish them well. That “virtual reality” stuff sounds, uh…. not sure how it sounds. They still gotta’ go out & the wrecks, fires and school board meetings, right?

Just watched the ABC coverage. I haven’t watched any other — including cable. I give ABC an “A” (rare for me w/ networks). Straightforward, balanced, fair. Good.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution⁩ devotes about 2 dozen grafs to the expected dismissal of charges in the APD Training Ctr case. Writer tells us about the protestor shot to death by GSP but neglects to recall that the protestor shot a trooper. Tut, tut…

I figure Tech alums should pile out of the west stands and various VIP sites and grab their checkbooks to pay this. They’ve spent a lot of time in the wilderness since that split natl title in 1990.

Imagine seeing this about any govt agency: Cutting workers to “reduce organizational complexity & speed up decision-making.” In other words, fewer people, leaner company, better expected results.

My recollection is that some of the drops — e.g. carjackings — are down pretty significantly. Will those numbers stay down or rise after the troops depart?

Not the first time we’ve heard that, but I think it’s the first time under oath. Similar police retreats took place in Seattle & Minneapolis in 2020, but now an ex-mayor is running for governor. Will this help or hurt KLB in a Democratic primary?

According to Newsweek, Hank Johnson, Nikema Williams, Lucy McBath & Sanford Bishop of GA are among the 58 Dems who voted against the House resolution honoring Charlie Kirk. Does that help them, hurt them or have no effect?

Guevara is a sympathetic figure, but by his own admission (to Atlanta Journal-Constitution in July), he was unwise to be regularly in the face of law enforcement. He’d been facing a deportation order since 2012. He ain’t violent, but I guess he got cocky.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution⁩ tells us GOP Rep. Mike Collins failed to vote for the res honoring Charlie Kirk, and Democratic Rep David Scott voted for it. The story fails to mention that 4 GA Dems — Johnson, Williams, McBath & Bishop — voted no. ajc.com/politics/2025/…

DeKalb CEO pleased that Publix putting a new story at Candler & Glenwood. Story mentions that Kroger just *closing* a store nearby. What does Kroger know that Publix doesn’t? Or is it the $3.8 million in taxpayer subsidies the new development is getting?

Anxiety at ATL about the minority contracting pgm the city’s had for nearly 50 years. Would like to see an INDEPENDENT review of the program evaluating costs, benefits, etc. Do contracts end up costing more? ID the companies that have flowered because of it.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution⁩ does a good job on this story, which is a reminder of all the moving parts when you are trying to track a student across various schools and school districts. Red flag & similar laws are a worthy idea. Won’t be easy to enforce.

I figure this got big coverage in OKC and Dallas. It’s a break from culture wars, politics and actual conflicts like Ukraine, Gaza, etc. Plus a tad more exotic than shark attacks which are not as common now that vacation season is over.
