Once you control for background factors, students attending private US schools have the same academic achievement as those attending public schools: bit.ly/2vThNPz. Given the smaller classes in private schools, this suggests that the teaching must be quite a bit worse...

Results summary this summer: at A Level, students smashed it. At GCSE, students smashed it. Best exam season ever. How? Students were brilliantly taught and not just in Year 11. Team effort and we are proud of everyone from the premises team to the Governors. Inspiring stuff!!

The first three days back at school have filled me with pride, joy, warmth, and excitement. I'm lucky to work in a school that genuinely cares about staff and students, listens, and acts in our best interests #allthefeels #proudtoteach

Scientists have developed a universal cancer test that can detect traces of the disease in a patient’s bloodstream. The test uses a colour-changing fluid to reveal the presence of malignant cells in the body and provides results in less than 10 minutes. theguardian.com/science/2018/d…

Spent the day visiting Eton to see how the other half live. Having come with the usual preconceptions, I’ve left with a softer opinion. They provide incredible every day experiences which massively build their kids cultural capital. How can we bring this into the state sector?
