It's below freezing in many parts of the US. Now, SCOTUS will determine if people who are forced to live outside can use things like blankets, cardboard, or a tarp to survive in the cold. The mere fact of this case existing is a damning indictment on America.

Things the CDC could do instead of dropping the isolation mandate 1- Address low boster uptake rates 2- Reinstate data collection and reporting 3- Support extended paid sick leave policies 4- Pay for COVID vaccines to reduce access barriers 5- Recommend testing out of isolation

A bill to ban folks from the subway? Governor Kathy Hochul this would make us *less* safe. Whats proven to help keep people safe, healthy & out of the CJ system? A job. Social services. Family & friend connections, etc. How do we access & maintain those things? Public transportation.

There are more than 150 medical schools in the U.S., but to this day, two HBCUs, Howard & Meharry medical schools, still produce the MOST Black physicians. It’s past time for PWIs to step up & commit to educating a diverse workforce. HBCUs can’t continue to do the heavy lifting.
