House Republicans’ budget bill defunds Planned Parenthood completely for all services, including family planning and cancer screenings. This is a terrible idea. I introduced an amendment to strip that section from the bill during our markup. People trust Planned Parenthood.

Texas is the cautionary tale — and Rep. Lizzie Fletcher said it out loud. 👏👏👏 Thank you, Rep. Fletcher, for standing up for the truth — and for the millions of people who rely on Planned Parenthood for trusted, compassionate care.

🚨Big News🚨 One of my top priority bills has passed the House. HB 3339 which establishes a Black Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Study. This will allow us to better understand how to improve healthcare outcomes for pregnant women in Texas. Now it’s headed to the Senate #txlege

The Republican budget moving through Congress would defund Planned Parenthood nationwide. We saw this play out in Texas in 2021: thousands lost preventive care and reproductive services. Defunding Planned Parenthood doesn't save money — it costs lives.

When Texas removed Planned Parenthood from Medicaid, patients immediately struggled to find care. Clinics couldn’t absorb Planned Parenthood’s volume, increasing wait and travel times. If doctors near you don't accept your insurance, coverage means nothing.

During Texas House Democrats presser this morning, Planned Parenthood Texas Votes speaks on the chemical abortion pill legislation. Says Greg Abbott is “once again weaponizing a crisis to push cruel, dangerous, and horrible policies … it’s an attack on our freedom, representation, and our care.” #txlege

Texas Republicans just opened a special session—not to help flood victims, but to gerrymander maps at Trump’s request. But Dems are fighting back. Texas State Rep. Donna Howard explains >>

.Wendy Davis's filibuster is a major reason i jumped into the political world. i was a summer fellow for Battleground Texas during her '14 run and introduced her at a volunteer summit. we took pics & she said she'd vote for me if i ever ran 9 years later we became coworkers at Planned Parenthood Texas Votes :)

Governor Abbott threatened to call a second special session immediately after the current one ends with the SAME UNPOPULAR agenda. Once again, he’s showing more commitment to Trump’s power grab than to addressing urgent needs like flood relief and disaster preparedness. #txlege

There is one Democrat still locked into the House chamber because she refuses to sign her permission slip. Rep. Nicole Collier will be here until, well, I guess we’ll see. Members are really not happy with the individual DPS escorts. Say they are not free to move on their own.

Republicans think they can walk all over us. Today I'm going to kick back. I’ve submitted my intention to filibuster the new congressional maps. Going to be a long night. #FairMaps #StandWithCarol
