Thank you to Scottish Water West for coming to visit us today. We loved getting to see the new pipe work going in the village and learning more about the #watercycle and what happens to toilet paper once it’s flushed!

Today we visited the Kildalton Cross with Museum of Islay Life and Open Virtual Worlds to learn how to preserve our digital heritage. The carvings on the cross may be being affected by climate change and lichens.

P67 have been commended in the KewGardens Endeavour competition on the Secret Life of Trees. P3/4 went foraging for seaweed today with islayheritage. We identified different species and discussed how to forage responsibly. We learnt about the nutritional value of seaweed & we made carrageen which got mixed reviews! Learning through Landscapes SSERC Early Years and Primary Team

For our Museum of Islay Life Open Virtual Worlds Heritage project P67 have been learning about the Kildalton Cross. They created an animation of the story of the cross and sang the Gaelic backing track Seallaibh Curaigh Eòghainn, thanks RCS WACI Argyll and Bute Council Education Service
