Let me get this straight: the NYPD opened fire on the subway yesterday in an attempt to stop a man who evaded the $2.90 fare (?), and in the process they ended up shooting him, 2 bystanders, and another cop? The caption accompanied by the community note below is *wild*.

Reminder that when NYPD calculates the number of stranger shootings it includes people shot by police. So the 4 people police shot on the subway yesterday will be used to boost crime statistics and justify the deployment of yet more cops underground.
