Learned tonight that the residents of Barbara Hall Park were offered shelter spaces at 129 Prefer, 545 Lakeshore, and Seaton House, with $10 of gift cards offered as incentive. Coercion aside (gift card vs baton to head is no choice), let's explore those shelter options:

First up, of course, is SHARC at 129 Peter, known colloquially as Central Intake. City workers here assess and refer new arrivals to the shelter system to available beds, but it is important to note that word "refer". 129 Peter has no emergency shelter beds on site.

Next, we have 545 Lakeshore, which just last month, Mayor Chow's City allowed to fall into such disrepair that running water was unavailable to the shelter's 270 residents for a week, while the lower levels flooded with raw sewage. Were significant repairs and clean-up finished?
