CJ BH pass again! very glad COL won so now that bad challenge call is 100% irrelevant. Also gives us what we all want — a third match. How about a DB for all the marbles? (someone did predict that a few days ago 😎)

If I am Columbus, in the women’s dubs match, I come out and just hit EVERY shot hard at Dizon. Dizon is playing well, but playing standard strategy is a loser for COL. Have to try something different. Go chaos, all speedups, all at Dizon, try to freeze out ALW.

One thing missing on some of these controversial calls is that when you make a call, the only 2 acceptable calls are “in” and “i’m sure it was out”. The players are making way too many “I think it was out” calls.

Congrats to Las Vegas for a dominating DB win and the promotion to Premier. Well deserved, as Vegas has been the best Challenger team for 2 years.

This first mixed match is awesome. You can just feel the pressure on the players. Everyone playing well. If this goes to a DB the pressure will be INTENSE

I have no idea what the video ref is looking at. The last frame shows the ball half on the line but in the air. Thus by the time it hits the ground, it is out. Commentators keep getting it right. Maybe make them the decision makers 😀

Somewhere, in an alternate dimension where Dallas picked Texas to play, there is a celebration going on and I would like to know which team it is that is celebrating.

What do Zoey Wang (best regular season Challenger player for the 2d year in a row) and Anderson Scarpa (best in Challenger playoffs), have in common? Both were drafted by Kaitlyn Kerr and the Las Vegas team in 2024. And KK doesn’t have a job as an MLP GM??? Memo to the new Palm

W/L records for MLP NYC (semis and finals), in order of performance: Daescu 9-1, Dizon 7-1, Klinger 7-2, Waters 7-3, Bright 2-1, Todd 5-5, Khlif 4-4, Howells 4-6, Jansen 3-6, Patriquin 1-2, Fahey 1-3, Kawamoto 0-2, Johnson 0-2, Tardio/Parenteau/Johns 0-4. That is some group at

NYC MLP factoid of the day: Ben Johns, Gabe Tardio, and Catherine Parenteau went a combined 0-12. Think about that for awhile before you criticize any player for losing a game at NYC. The 2 best players on the planet and a top 5 woman went 0-12.

First update from PPA Vegas. Indoors on pickle roll type courts. Layout for CC and GS is excellent, really nice look. Ball not bouncing high, so similar to MLP NY. Expect players who like to speed up off the bounce to be at a disadvantage.

Rafa Lenhard just cruised his way through some good players to make it through singles qualies. Some top seed is in trouble tomorrow. Lenhard may very well be a top 25 singles player. We just have not seen him enough. He has game.

Not sure why more fans don’t come out on PPA qualifier day. The level of play is very high. These players would have been the best in the world not that many years ago. Seems hard to believe that in 3-4 years, the level of top play today will be qualifier level in 2029-2030. But

Watching qualifiers shows you what new/young players are doing. LOTS of topspin. 99% two hand BHs. More western and semi western grips then ever before. Topspin and twoeys are here to stay but i’m unsure on the grip trend. What do you think?

Jim “the smartest man in pickleball” Kloss (@pickleball_jim) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Men’s singles is just wildly difficult on PPA. There are legitimately 50+ players who could win it. Chris Haworth is a great player and he’s playing Adam Harvey in the 1st round. Harvey had a match point in game 2 and Haworth came back to send it to game 3. Haworth could win the

Rafa Lenhard, the #1 qualifier, drew Gabe Joseph (9seed) in round one. This is a coin flip match. Joseph is always a medal contender but Lenhard is every bit as good as Joseph.
