⚔️ Sharp ship ⚓ On 21 January 1807, six boats from HMS Galatea captured the French corvette Lynx. The party was commanded by Lieutenant William Coombe who had already lost a leg in previous action. He received this Lloyds sword as reward. The National Museum of the Royal Navy bit.ly/44fa2BP

⚔️ Blade Expectations This basket-hilted sword was uncovered in 1982 during excavations to secure lifting wires for raising the Mary Rose Remarkably well-preserved, it survived thanks to being crushed and sealed in oxygen-free sediments beneath the ship bit.ly/44fa2BP

🎖 Threadquarters. A uniform with a story. Lieutenant John Binney’s uniform is one of the few of its kind to survive. The red facings, were dropped 13 years later. ⚓ He tragically drowned and his belongings were preserved by his family. The National Museum of the Royal Navy bit.ly/44fa2BP

👕 Tough Kit from the Mary Rose Out of 46 leather jerkins recovered, this is one of the more complete survivors. It most likely belonged to a master gunner & was found close to a large iron gun, with the impression of a powder horn in the leather. bit.ly/44fa2BP
