"The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has called for universal background checks, a federal gun-trafficking statute, extreme-risk protection orders, limits on high-capacity magazines, raising the purchase age, and banning assault weapons."

I am disgusted and horrified by the shooting of Charlie Kirk that took place this afternoon in Utah. We must unite as a nation to condemn this and all political violence. Americans must come together to stop the epidemic of gun violence in the United States.

As Minnesotans, we know all too well the horrors of political violence and gun violence. Violence in all its forms is unacceptable, and we all must work together to stop even more families from experiencing these devastating tragedies.
