Crushing glaciers returned multiple times during the 2.58 million year Quaternary Ice Age. We survived in the 11,700 year Holocene warm interglacial (they average 15,000 yrs). The trace gas carbon dioxide had no role in the ice age nor is it the cause of changes to the climate.
