It has been a tough couple weeks as we at telegramdotcom return to the courthouse as it reopens. I walked into Gary's office and it was just as he left it. An old-school office of organized chaos, with docket sheets piled high atop another in sequential order, spannig years.

We looked to the corner and saw Gary's well-worn cushion, used to defend against the hard courthouse benches, on a chair. The last daily log he ever handled, and the book he was reading that day, were neatly placed on top.
