I'm a journalist with ADHD. From both perspectives it's unethical & misleading for a neurotypical journalist to try get diagnosed privately, but tell NHS psychiatrist about investigation into false diagnoses & then use the NHS assessment as evidence private diagnoses are wrong

@rorynatkiel Once a patient is referred, ADHD was confirmed by a specialist in 483/515 (94%) cases in a Canadian study in 2017 pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29317844/ . Our lives are made difficult as the UK government don’t record adult ADHD figures, as it already does with autism (as of 2019).

This is genuinely shocking ignorance and stigmatic language. Food does not lead to a neurodevelopmental disorder of ADHD. I don't know who this is but they should not be using a medical status to say this.
