Eckerd College geosciences faculty recently received a more than $380,000 U.S. National Science Foundation grant to help recruit more students to the discipline. The funds will create more research opportunities for majors on big issues like marine pollution and climate science. eckerd.edu/news/blog/geos…

Chemical & Physical Oceanography students Eckerd College were instructed, by Asst Prof of #MarineScience Patrick Schwing, in the properties of conductivity and temperature relative to ocean depth on a recent Tampa Bay research cruise. The sunset vistas were informative too.

Students from Eckerd College are currently working on their research projects after an FIO-sponsored cruise on the R/V Hogarth earlier in the semester where they sampled six stations in Tampa Bay. Stations were situated along a transect of environmental gradient from (1/3)
