Criminal violence and thuggery on our streets will not be tolerated. Police forces have my full support in ensuring that those who engage in criminal disorder face the strongest possible penalties.

I utterly condemn the far-right thuggery we have seen this weekend. Be in no doubt: those who have participated in this violence will face the full force of the law.

This is not protest, it is pure violence. We will have a standing army of public duty officers. We will ramp up criminal justice. We will apply criminal law online as well as offline. We will not tolerate attacks on mosques or on Muslim communities.

Those who break the law will feel the full force of the law.

Very sad to hear about the death of Councillor Sue Roberts. I knew her for many years and she worked hard for tenants’ rights on the board of Wolverhampton Homes and for the constituents she represented. May she rest in peace.

This is a serious incident. I and other local MPs have received an update from the Environment Agency. They have identified the source of the leak and are testing the water along the route.
