Thanks Circular Communities Scotland for highlighting the importance of a strong Circular Economy Bill - going through the Scottish Parliament this week!
Great to hear more from the fantastic Stella's Voice UK about their Circular Economy work. We are off to the Scottish Parliament this afternoon to follow the CE Bill's progress - fingers crossed it is a strong and ambitious bill!
Hurray! Amendment 43 to the Circular Economy Bill has just been approved in the Scottish Parliament so Education and Skills will be part of the Bill voted into law tomorrow. The Circular Economy Bill has just been approved by the Scottish Parliament! So much to say but after an intense afternoon watching it all happen, we're off for a drink first to celebrate 😃🥳 Scottish Environment LINK @mcs_uk Circular Communities Scotland
Fab work Repair Cafe Foyle - the bags look brilliant and it's great to see young people getting hands on with repair and reuse!
Thanks to the wonderful team Reuse Scotland SCIO for a fab visit. Amazing to see the huge amounts of stuff diverted from waste into reuse. Beautiful games, books, furniture, electronics, tools and much more, all available at low cost in this treasure trove in Dunbar! #reuseandrepair
Amazing visit to Optimum Eco Group who process IT and WEEE - the world's fastest growing waste stream. 37,000 screens were repaired for reuse last year - amazing work, but why are we throwing throwing "away" so many valuable resources in the first place? ostrero.com/uncategorized/…
Love this shell story that diverts waste from landfill, helps with flooding and engages the community. The University of Central Lancashire - UCLan and LeftCoast used waste shells to develop a porous alternative to concrete: Blackpool makes waves as the UK's pioneer in seashell concrete testing - UCLan
The waste we generate in homes, schools and workplaces is one of the main reasons we are now facing the global crises of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. Find out how a Circular Economy can change this in the excellent UN Environment Programme Beyond an Age of Waste Youth Report
So happy today to get this fab piece of art work from Hannah Riordan for Year 2 of our Zero Waste Schools pilot in schools - we're kicking off this Friday! #learningforsustainabilityscotland #zerowasteschools
Thanks Strathyre Primary for a fantastic workshop. They now have an action plan to design out waste across 6 areas over the next 3 terms. To finish off they created fabulous Zero Waste Champions medals and badges with Bryony Knox #zerowasteschools #craftinschools #circulareducation
Thank to the wonderful P6s Echline Primary & Nursery Class for a great Zero Waste Schools workshop. They came up with an action plan to design out waste and had fun creating Zero Waste Champions medals, badges and rings with mella.manies #zerowasteschools #learningforsustainabilityscotland
Brilliant day with the Junior Leadership Team Castleview Primary and Bryony Knox who started on their Zero Waste Schools Action Plan. One outcome is to share delicious pumpkin recipes to stop food waste - can't wait to try! #zerowastehalloween #learningforsustainabilityscotland
Thanks to the incredible eco group Barrhead High School for their energy in creating a waste action plan as part of our Zero Waste Schools pilot. Ideas include reducing single use packaging, campaigning about energy waste in digital use and starting a repair club. East Renfrewshire
