Reception @ St James' Y1@St James’ and Year 2 @ St James' went to church today to consolidate their learning about Baptism. Father Philip reminded us about the words spoken and the signs and symbols used during a Baptism: sign of the cross, water, oil of chrism, candle, and white garment. OSJ_RE

In DT, as part of our new structures topic, we started to trial making our own joints. We trialed building some structures of our own using Lego, Clixi and Wooden Blocks. 🧱

Key Stage 1 looked fabulous in their own clothes for World Diabetes Day. We have all learned a little about diabetes and enjoyed having the chance to ‘wear blue or just be you’. Y1@St James’ #WorldDiabetesDay

On ‘Prayer for Peace’ day we have learned about what peace means to us and how we can spread this through school. We shared lovely prayers from different schools as part of our celebration. 🙏🏼🕊OSJ_RE

In DT we continued to explore different types of joints, making a tab and a brace. We used different materials and construction kits to make chairs. We discussed which materials were strong and most effective. 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️🧱

We learned about how to keep safe on the roads for #roadsafety week. 🚗🚦🚸

In our #nooutsiders lesson we learned about how to love ourselves through affirmations. We explored how self respect links to our own happiness. 😊😁
