First up: Tokunbo “Tumbo” Abanikanda. A multi-sport athlete at Osborne, Tumbo made history as the school’s first Division I-A scholarship signee in nearly 20 years. Now? He’s a front office exec with the Atlanta Falcons. 📸: Tumbo's brother, Dayo, accepting on his behalf.

Next, we’ve got Sammy Davis. A baseball and basketball star, he shattered records at Jacksonville State before being drafted by the Cleveland Indians in ‘77. Now, his #2 baseball jersey is officially retired at Osborne

Then there’s Shacamra “Shay” Jackson-Williams. A force on the court, she dominated in basketball, volleyball, tennis, and softball. With 1,000+ career points and multiple records, she’s now shaping young athletes as a coach.

And you can’t talk Osborne greatness without the 1964 State Champion basketball team. Expected to finish 6th in the region, they shocked everyone—winning 17 straight games to claim the state title.
