On April 15, as part of Second Chance Month, MORCA hosted HER Vision at the @FSFSC. This vision board session empowered women returning from incarceration to reflect on their journeys and map out their goals. It was a moving experience filled with hope, healing, & joyful tears.

MORCA’s Outreach Team participated in DMPSJ’s Community Popup at H.D. Woodson High School, sharing information on our services that benefit student’s communities & families. The event included service providers, employers, fun activities & reinforcement of positivity.

Director Lamont Carey served as a panelist at Howard University “From the Global to the Local: Criminal Justice Challenges & Ways Forward” event, which featured speakers the US & France. The group discussed creating opportunities for returning citizens in the District & beyond.

Team MORCA partnered with Rep Oye Owoleya, @dcdpr & Christian Legal Aid to host a record sealing clinic — a well known barrier to successful reintegration— at Great Expectations in Ward 4. The room was filled with returning citizens eager to have a second chance and a #FairShot.

May is mental health month. MORCA and PSJ invite you to join us on Thursday, May 29 from 1 to 5 pm to bring awareness to mental health and connect with service providers at the end of the Steps Toward Wellness Behavioral Health Walk Resource Fair.

Team MORCA joined the Stop the Killing event at Meridian Hill Park. It was a full day of speakers, vendors, and go-go bands stressing the importance of all residents taking accountability and responsibility to end crime and violence in the District.
