To a packed room at #ica23 #ICA2023 ICA Comp Methods, Paul Balluff introduced the OPTED_H2020 platform Meteor, meteor.opted.eu, which contains information on hundreds of text analysis tools and thousands of European news sources. Fantastic development work by him!

Another outcome of our development of meteor.opted.eu: knowing more about the reporting practises around software for text analysis. We hope to encourage more visibility, but also reflection, on the methods and tools of automated content analysis.

Fresh off OPTED_H2020 conference, Johannes Gruber gave a two-days course on intermediate text analysis methods for Computational Communication Science Lab (UNIVIE) and political science PhD students Universität Wien. He taught machine and deep learning, embeddings, and turning your WhatsApp chats into text corpora #CSS
