To a packed room at #ica23 #ICA2023 ICA Comp Methods, Paul Balluff introduced the OPTED_H2020 platform Meteor, meteor.opted.eu, which contains information on hundreds of text analysis tools and thousands of European news sources. Fantastic development work by him!

Excited to present our OPTED_H2020 final results with Miklos SEBOK and Christian Rauh and provide a glimpse of the (soon to be released) #ParlLawSpeech dataset integrating parliamentary speeches, bills & laws! Thanks to @boomgaardenhg for organizing a great final #Opted conference!
What can you do with OPTED data? Paul Balluff, Christoffer Green-Pedersen, Christoph Ivanusch and Sven-Oliver Proksch and Christian Rauh (all representing many more collaborators) presented fascinating case studies on news media, parliamentary debates and laws and political party agendas.
Fresh off OPTED_H2020 conference, Johannes Gruber gave a two-days course on intermediate text analysis methods for Computational Communication Science Lab (UNIVIE) and political science PhD students Universität Wien. He taught machine and deep learning, embeddings, and turning your WhatsApp chats into text corpora #CSS
Last week was a fantastic week before summer break! First, we hosted everyone from OPTED_H2020 in Vienna for our last (😢) project meeting, this time with external guests for fascinating discussions around infrastructures and text analysis. As always, both fun and inspiring.
