Almighty God, who in our country raised up martyrs from every walk of life to vindicate the authority of your Church in teaching and worship, grant through their intercession, we pray, that all our people may be gathered once again to celebrate the same sacraments.

Today is the feast of the 40 English Martyrs of England & Wales. 5 of the 40 were from or served in the The Catholic Diocese of Nottingham. Ss John Houghton, Robert Lawerence, Ralph Sherwin, Augustine Webster & Eustace White. May we like them be filled with love and zeal for Christ and his Church.
