Heard a rumour that next #JuniorDoctorsStrike move might be to work days but withdraw all out-of-hours care (evenings, nights, weekends) indefinitely They still get paid some salary, daytime lists continue, but consultants have to do all OOH work That could be v effective

Great article by an excellent UCLH consultant (who taught me while I was still at medschool) - not sure his suggestions are enough to fix horrendous attrition rates of junior docs tbh, but highlights just how badly the NHS undervalues its JDs

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Real-terms pay in the NHS has been BRUTALLY cut, the whole of the economy, not so much. The NHS is broken. The NHS *is* its staff. We need to #FixPay to fix #Retention. #PayRestoration is not "unreasonable", 👇is unreasonable. RT for #PayRestoration

Robert Peston There is no fat left to cut in the NHS. If the Govt want a health service that works, they need to pay healthcare workers fairly. And that means above inflation pay rises and reform of pay review bodies.
