This is a bit surreal, but Demise: Rise of the Ku’tan, a game from 1999, just got a demo for its 2nd expansion: Revenge of the Tavern Keeper. It's a rather unique RPG - a dungeon-crawler with GIGANTIC levels that removes direct combat control to focus on optimizing party builds.

Here are my predictions for the new NeverEnding Story movie: It will be "updated for modern audiences" and consequently alienate the millennials who would otherwise be nostalgic for it while failing to attract a new audience. It will put all of its eggs in the Chinese market

A lot of people asked me for tips on how to play older non-English games, so here's four amazing resources (besides DOSBox & emulators): 1 - MORT: github.com/killkimno/MORT An OCR tool to automatically translate on-screen text, IMO it's easier to use than Ztranslate. A must-have!

This is one of my favorite bits of screenwriting advice. After hearing this, a lot of the negative feedback that I got on earlier drafts started to make sense.

Released in Italy 43 years ago today, Lucio Fulci’s Spaghetti Splatter epic The Beyond! An opera of extreme violence & surrealist imagery, Fulci was on absolute 🔥 at this stage in his career.

What’s a still from a movie or TV show that will completely devastate anyone who has seen it, but seem completely unremarkable to anyone who hasn’t?

I have always loved Tolkien's "Speak Friend, and Enter" But, it's too well known to steal directly for my ttRPG campaigns. Closest I ever got was "Behold this tomb, and know you cannot enter the splendor you see," which required you to close your eyes to get in. What y'all got?

If you had to run an unsettling village in your #dnd game, what elements that feel just off by a bit or landmarks would you consider adding to that uncanny feeling?

Two wind machines & 22 pounds (10 kg) of real maggots were used to film this amazing scene in Lucio Fulci's "City of the Living Dead" (1980)

Maybe it was the cultural impact, or maybe we were just blessed with huge talent during that era. But for some reason '70s horror cinematography is sublime.
