As we are dealing with (hopefully) the last gasp of winter, I wanted to give a big shout out to the men & women of our custodial crew here at South & throughout the district. They’ve put in countless hours this winter, ensuring that we all stay safe on our campuses. Thank you!!!

Grateful to be a participant this morning in the SMSD Women in Leadership Program breakfast. Very much enjoyed speaking with these accomplished young women at my table about empowerment and leadership. They will do ALL the things!

Loved being a mystery reader today for Ms. Phipps’s kindergarten class at Oak Park-Carpenter ! Making connections with our students is 100% my favorite part of the job!

I think it’s really cool how many SMSD grads are now SMSD employees. Three Rushton alums right here, two who currently teach 4th grade there and one District Resource Officer, who was super excited to speak to their classes today! ❤️🤍

How Ofc Hernandez & I spent our 1st day of the new school year. Our favorite part of our jobs as SROs is the relationships that we build with our students and staff. The most important part of it is keeping them safe. Joint training days like this are essential to that endeavor.
