I have always (secretly) wanted to receive a mug from a student as a present. It took three years but it finally happened and was more amazing than I could have ever dreamed!

Today was a rough day - mostly due to being tired from the school trip yesterday. Lesson 4 one of my form students asked to speak to me outside during our lesson. Turns out he was checking in on me to make sure I was ok! ๐Ÿฅน

I enjoy being on my own, but no one actually talks about how us teachers go from social butterflies, interacting left, right and centre to being almost completely alone for weeks. Itโ€™s a lot. We need to support each other- especially those who donโ€™t enjoy being alone so much๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

Making use of my vast collection of eyeliners by matching my eye makeup to the book I am reading...because why not! (Summer reading books 1-4)

It would appear my brain no longer knows how to lesson plan! Probably explains the weeks of putting it off - only to stare at a blank PowerPoint for the last two hours ๐Ÿ˜–

Highlights of the past week has been: a) Seeing my former form in school (even if it is terrifying they are now year 10! - where did the time go) b) Getting to see a lot of my old GCSE group in A-Level Geography - it was too quiet when they were off after exams!

Home for the weekend and within one food shop with my mum we managed to bump into two families from church. At which point I was made to stand for a photo in the middle of Tesco's as "the lesser spotted children" were both present! ๐Ÿ˜…

First school council meeting of 2023 today and so excited by some of the things that have been discussed! Finished with one of the students asking if they can attend regularly as they really felt their voice was being heard โ˜บ๏ธ

Two mornings of Year 11 Fieldwork then three days practice Silver D of E Expedition followed by another morning of Year 11 Fieldwork. This is my new peak teacher tiredness.

Day one of Ofsted with a Geog department deep dive but got to finish the teaching day doing a sixth form bridging lesson for my lovely year 11s who want to do A-Level Geog. They even sat through an hour of economics (their words) so they would be in my session! โ˜บ๏ธ

I find it adorable that the Year 13 group on fieldwork kept coming to show me all the bits they found on the beach! They suggested making a franken-crab which was a little less adorable

My favorite thing about Sixth Form parents evening is I can actually do it at home from my living room. My least favorite part is that I cannot do anything for the three hours between the end of the school day and the start of the appointments due to fear of missing it
