On June 26, 2000, the draft human genome sequence was announced. 21 years later, on May 27, 2021, the complete human genome sequence was published (as a preprint) biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Now we finally have a whole genome after talking about it for 2 decades Adam Phillippy et al👋👋
