On this very sad day in the Norman weather community, our evening weather balloon launch is dedicated to Nic, Drake and Gavin - OU meteorology students who died in a tragic traffic accident last night.

We had a great week with our U.S. National Science Foundation REU site students hosting high schoolers from Nebraska College Preparatory Academy! Here is a video of our Lego Spike races to cap off a great week learning the basics of coding and robotics. Thanks to Nebraska School of Computing and Nebraska Engineering for all the staff support.

Today is international justice day. I’ve been thinking a lot about the future possibilities and problems for IJ. I outline some of these in my book and would add the climate crisis, attacks on hr defenders, and misinformation to the list. The work for justice continues.

Great story on co-director Carrick Detweiler and the work he is doing Drone Amplified. We are proud to see all the progress and impact they have made with this technology that he started in the lab.

Swarms are hard! We make them work. Got environmental monitoring or precision agriculture needs? We have a swarm for that!

Yesterday was the last day of the summer for our REUs. We hope they learned a lot and enjoyed their time in the NIMBUS lab!
