Yesterday was a beautiful day for a neighbourhood walk. So many discoveries were made. Our favourite was watching the Steller’s Jay in the trees.

Building on our understanding of how the salmon help the forest as well as decomposing numbers. Students chose a number of nutrients to place on their salmon and then decided how they would share the nutrients with the forest. This student hasn’t finished hers yet.

Today’s rain provided the perfect opportunity to reenact our salmon journey stories in a new environment. We found joy in puddles but it didn’t take long for a real world knot to emerge “Can or should the water and land be owned?” Much to unpack tomorrow #sd36learn

We read Ducks Overboard and then used our table tops to work out a math problem based on Ducks Overboard. We chose our own numbers of ducks in the ocean and then figured out how many would land in different places around our world.
