You can dig up tweets from March where I said Mamdani or another progressive had a shot because Cuomo is a terrible campaigner. But he still has to win a general electorate in November and non Democrats in the city are unforgiving when they show up to vote.

The centrist establishment didn’t want Cuomo. They got stuck with him because the base didn’t latch on to any other candidate.
