Although it is often claimed that muscle damage occurs during exercise, it actually mainly develops in the post-workout period. Here is another study showing the development of both fatigue and also markers of muscle damage gradually for 2-3 days post-exercise.

I want to bust a common #Cycling myth 💥 That spinning at high cadences is "more aerobic," shifting power from the muscles to the cardiovascular system, thus ⬇️ fatigue & ⬆️ performance. But science tells a different story. Let's break down the evidence. #CyclingScience 🚴🧵👇

Guru syndrome: 1. Overcomplicate everything. 2. Embrace sciencyness, not science. 3. Focus on the final 2%, instead of 1st 98% 4. Love single intervention with wide-ranging impacts 5. Almost always selling something 6. Overemphasize biomarkers, underemphasize functional results

This review outlines the use of altitude exposure (i.e. live high–train high and live high–train low) and heat-training strategies to augment endurance exercise performance at sea level and in typical ambient temperatures.

Tremendous breakdown of the most current evidence on the relationship between lactate & exercise-induced fatigue. We've known for a LONG time that "lactic acid build up" is NOT the cause. That said, there is still a lot we don't know about fatigue. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40088272/
