Rare in flinty Norwich, this stone doorway in Colegate is thought to have come from the long-lost Duke of Norfolk's Palace #AdoorableThursday

A contingent of NHBG members attended the VAG winter conference this weekend. Some really fascinating and thought provoking talks. A huge thank to all involved. We’ll be providing a short overview to NHBG members in the next newsletter

A huge thank you to Hannah and Ben Nairn who kindly invited NHBG members to view their house for the most recent NHBG summer visit. We were also treated to some lovely refreshments too. A thatched, timber framed property. The main range is mid C16th with a later C17th cross wing.

Calling medieval twitter and buildings boffins! Has anyone encountered this sort of guilloche carved decoration on a late-medieval building? Twisted bands with diamonds in the centres. Revealed during re-rendering of an earlyC15(?) house in Maldon, Essex. Many thanks! VAG
