How do infants learn amid constant change? By modelling their phasic and tonic pupil size, we reveal how infants estimate and adapt to volatility. I am excited about this work and its potential impact, and I look forward to presenting it at CogSci Society! escholarship.org/uc/item/68r1k5…

🌟 Exciting Opportunity! 🌟  The WIN Global Scholars (WINGS) Programme is open for 2024-25 applications. We're on the hunt for early career researchers from the Global South for a transformative, remote, year-long affiliation with WIN. 🌍 🧵

🎉🎉Finally out in PNASNews Our new paper used spatial transcriptomic data from the human brain to show laminar gene expression patterns of cortical infrastructure for language. Thanks so much, Clyde Francks Simon Fisher pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

Happy science fact of the day: It's a year since the first Imaging Neuroscience paper was published, with 280 papers since then. Hence in just the first year, over half a million dollars has stayed within academia, rather than going to Elsevier [shareholders etc].

Curious about human brain development through an animal model? 🧠🐒Check out our new preprint on Brain Charts of the Rhesus Macaque Lifespan! We've mapped normative trajectories for macaque brains using 1.5k MRI scans from PRIME-DE and collaborators! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
