"Abram's seed will be in a foreign land; they will be enslaved and afflicted; their enslavement will last four hundred years; their oppressors will face judgment; and they will reenter the Land with great possessions." - Alastair J. Roberts & Andrew Wilson ^ That's the Gospel.

Sola Scriptura is both true and beautiful. God's hand-selected, inspired teachers can bind our consciences like no one else can - without error, every time. Anyone outside of that hand-selected group can fall into error in the context of teaching.

Nehemiah 8:12 So all the people departed to eat and drink and to share their food with others and to enjoy tremendous joy, for they had gained insight in the matters that had been made known to them. ^ This was after the Law had been read to them. Let's love God's Word like this

We don't "have to" appeal to such data. That data simply makes the existence of God significantly more probable than alternative hypotheses. These arguments do not prove God's love for us, however. The cross does.

Jesus didnt come to make the world better. He came to save the world first of all by the progress of the Gospel reaching the ends of the Earth. And then giving it a good burial so that He can make it all new again. - Michael Horton

Yes, exactly. And it takes years of reading, researching, and getting out of the "question and answer" paradigm of apologetics to get to the point where you can discuss things on the "well-developed theory" level. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

Feels like every generation is called the “revival generation,” when they are teens. Every. Single. One. What happens to them? As in, where are they as adults? The answer to that ? will be answered by whether a generation roots itself in the local church.

Not only would this be evil to actually do, but this would most likely cause irreparable damage to the child. A child's prenatal attachment to their mother is widely believed to lay the foundation for their later development in areas of brain development and relationships.

I don't care *who* is doing the interpreting. I care about the correct interpretation, which is knowable through proper hermeneutical principles. Some early interpretations are actually quite good. Others couldn't be more off-base. This is why it's best to be like the Bereans.

For some reason, BEFORE you sac the piece, it looks brilliant, then immediately afterward, you realize they had a move you didn't see, and you become sad.

I don't know what my max is on any lift, and I don't care to know. Lifting to be healthier and stronger is the way - not to outdo other people in weight or to even know what your maximum capacity is.

Just want to clarify for anyone who sees this: I am not a Lutheran. I have had a few people think I am at this point, so I just want to be clear about that. I am an evangelical of the "mere Christianity" variety. I do love the Lutherans, though. Great people and liturgy.

It’s important to distinguish between the church’s infallibility (preservation from error) and the church’s indefectibility (preservation from death or failure to achieve her end). Many supposed prooftexts of infallibility are actually talking about indefectibility.
