My thoughts on the origins of our current politics. TLDR version: Trump is a result of the still born project of GWB to remake conservatism. I blame Osama Bin Laden. open.substack.com/pub/nateoman/p…

Gaetz is utterly unfit to be AG. He should be rejected by the Senate. Confirmed, I don't know which will be worse: his incompetence, his sycophancy, his mendacity, or his personal immorality.

We've gone from a world where the GOP put Ted Olson into the highest legal positions in the land to one where it puts forward Matt Gaetz. RIP Ted Olson and God help us.

A word to progressives: Defending the Hunter Biden pardon makes it difficult to take your railing against corruption and undermining the rule of law seriously. And it should. The problem is that there will be plenty to rail about in the next 4 years. Keep your powder dry.

Every time I see one of his tweets like this, I remember that my department thought about asking him to give a speech, but when we saw his fee and $$ add-ons for anything else, we moved on.

I love Korea. I spent 2 years living there as an LDS missionary in the 1990s. Watching Koreans stop Yoon's attempted coup d'etat cold is marvelous. 한국 만세!

The partisan brain rot is deep among some journalists. Also, Dems: Just stop defending the Hunter Biden pardon. Stop. Surely you want some shreds of credibility when you pound the podium in outrage about Trump.

There is a certain kind of intellectual influence that is marked by the use of one's name to get donors angry enough to open their wallets. Well done Matthew Yglesias.

The finding that young women are becoming a lot more liberal while young men are becoming a lot more conservative DOES NOT REPLICATE in the Cooperative Election Study. In fact, the two lines have run in almost perfect parallel for the last 15 years.
